Aurora!

We haven't had much aurora activity recently, and the eleven-year cycle is now past its maximum so we'll be seeing fewer events anyway, so it was great to get an alert yesterday evening. However, when it first came through the northern sky was covered in cloud, and I was slow to check again, but when I went out at the front of the house just after ten thirty the sky had cleared and the lights were visible.

While it was great to take the first pictures of an aurora lighting the sky over our house, it was frustrating to know we'd missed the best of it.
