Banks of mist moved up and down the Sound of Mull around dawn this morning, at times advancing to envelop the Kilchoan coastline, at times....
....lifting to allow the sun to play across the waters.
This picture looks across the Sound to Rubha nan Gall lighthouse and, to the left, Calve Island on the far side of Tobermory Bay.
At times the land seemed to be steaming in the still air.
In this picture, Maclean's Nose is the dark headland to the left, the low land just caught by a weak sun is Ardslignish, the steaming land is the island of Oronsay, and the hills beyond are on Morvern.
