Mingary Castle Tour

From Trevor Potts:

We had a brilliant tour around the castle last night. What a privilege it was to be able to climb the scaffolding and see the roof construction in progress. The explanation we were given about the balance between conservation and reconstruction was first class.

The second photograph was taken from approximately where the person in the white hat is standing on the right hand side of the first photo.

Many thanks to Pat Glenday for her work in organising it and to John-Paul Ashley and Mark Thompson, the builders, for giving up their time to see us safely round the scaffolding.  Thanks too to a rchitect Francis Shaw for his excellent explanations and of course to Donald Houston for allowing it.  I'm looking forward to the next tour when more progress has been made.

Trevor runs the Ardnamurchan Campsite.
