Thank you to this lesser redpoll who came along to join us for lunch on what is, by recent standards, a rather dull, wet day. The lack of a pink breast at this time of year suggests this is a female.
Jon, have you ever tried niger seed in your feeders - we only occasionally see redpolls down here in England in late winter, but once here, they seem to hang around for quite a while if there's niger seed around. Dave K.
