The Smallest Shall Be First

From Gael Cameron:

The Sport Day for local primary schools was held on Wednesday and Kilchoan Primary did exceptionally well.  The day was hosted by Acharacle Primary this year and they used the excellent sports facilities at Ardnamurchan High School.  The day was drizzly rain with midges, but spirits were high and the children were enthusiastic and excited.

The schools competing were Acharacle, with over 50 pupils, Strontian with over 30 pupils, Lochaline with 24, Ardgour with 19, and Kilchoan with 11. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Kilchoan took home 3 out of the 6 trophies.   P1-3 girls' trophy was won by Holly Cameron (P2)....

....while the P4-7 girls' trophy was won by Kirstyn Rowantree (P7)....

....and the Junior relay team won the relay trophy. The team was Chloe & Megan Curtis, Emma MacLachlan, Stuart MacLachlan, Isla Crosbie and Holly Cameron.

For such a small school the children did fantastically well.  They were rewarded with ice-creams from Nadura on the way home and then greeted at the school with balloons and sweeties.

A big 'Thank You!' to Acharacle School for a brilliant day out.
