Sun Dog

This is a picture of an atmospheric phenomenon called a sun dog, or parhelion, which we saw above Ormsaigmore about 7pm last night.

It's the first time I've seen one and it's only thanks to a follower of our campsite facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/farviewcampsite) that I know what it is, but perhaps they are regular occurrences in Kilchoan?

    Wow, that's beautiful! It looks a bit like that meteor that landed in Russia recently, with a tail stretching out to the left!
